In order to celebrate the first century of the Arena di Verona and on the occasion of the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth La Fura dels Baus inaugurates the "Festival del Centenario 2013". Àlex Ollé and Carlus Padrissa sign their version of Aida, the opera in the Arena par excellence.
 
On this occasion they transform this emblematic space into a colossal desert, create mechanical animals and fabricate a solar power station. Their stage direction experience in large-scale performances and in opera come together to create the XXI Century Aida.
